Sorry for the trouble. The issue was because of a code I was using in functions.php

Both the settings (Anyone Can Register AND Profile Syncing of WP and BP) are checked. Still the same issue!

I am running latest WordPress and BuddyPress on my local install.

As instructed in docs, I created Register and Activate page and assigned them to BuddyPress via settings. Now, when I am visiting Register page of the site, everything seems fine, but am not able to find ‘input’ box for Username Field.
