1.2 RC3 disables per blog login (bug or customizable?)

Just started testing out 1.2 RC3 with 2.9.1.1 and found that when enabling BuddyPress, sub blog logins are redirected to the main blog aka buddypress page, and users find it very difficult to manage their blogs.
I’ve disabled BuddyPress and this problem is fixed.
Is this something customizable via options or wp-config.php, or a bug?

Deactivated and activated again solved the problem.
