    @andyjay83

    Wordpress 4.9.7 Buddypress 3.1.0

I am using WP SMTP integrated with SendGrid to send out the automated emails that BuddyPress sends to members as the members interact with my wordpress site (i.e. someone commenting, sending a PM, favoriting, etc.)

When those emails get sent out to yahoo and aol addresses I get an email that says:

This is the mail system at host gateway36.websitewelcome.com.

I’m sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It’s attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

I also see that the emails are sending duplicate subject lines which I read could be the root of this issue.

    1. Does anyone have a solution for this?
    2. If the solution is making sure there is only one subject line, does anyone know how to execute this?

Thanks for your time guys 🙂

I’d be looking to isolate the various components that you are using to try to work out what is causin this. As it stands BP does not duplicate the subject line for it’s emails so it looks like it’s to do with something else.

I’m having the same issues. I’ve checked the headers in the failed messages and they indeed include double subject line entries. Did you find any offending plugins?

Recently I started using BP Better Messages, going to see if that’s causing the issue.

Also I’m using Rehub theme, if you’re using that, maybe we can find some similarities and rule things out.

Perhaps this will help someone else….This fixed the issue for me and I am using wp mail smtp plugin

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-with-buddypress/

” You have to actually enable the wp_mail sending in BuddyPress via a filter: add_filter( ‘bp_email_use_wp_mail’, ‘__return_true’ )”
