Wordpress 4.2.2 – BuddyPress Version 2.3.2.1

I cannot understand how to set up Memberships, Registration. Tutorials don’t seem to address this.

Please give me link to documentation.

I go to Settings > BuddyPress > Pages & I see these instructions/fields to fill in, but no clue as to what all this means:

Directories
Associate a WordPress Page with each BuddyPress component directory.
Members > PAGE NAME
Registration
Associate WordPress Pages with the following BuddyPress Registration pages.
Register > PAGE NAME
Activate > PAGE NAME

BuddyBoss support says: Please create a page for each option and then you can select those pages for each option. Create the Pages first , after that you will get options to select them.

This is clear as mud.
