Activation emails not sent, not able to add the patch – other options?

First, thank you to everyone who has helped with my questions in the past. I know the support is free and I am grateful for those who assist.

I started my site over a month ago. However it is on hold because new subscribers are not receiving their confirmation emails. Big problem – new members are ready to join and I’m afraid my site is losing momentum. I used the plugin “Check Email” and it sends emails with no issue. I deleted BP and uploaded it again today, but still the patch (see below) is not in it.

I tried to add the patch as stated by @r-a-y. But WP could not save it. (https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7869/7869.01.patch) I don’t know anything about FTP so that’s not going to work.

Any idea when BP will be updated with this patch so I can simply load a fresh version of it on WP?

If it can’t be resolved, can anyone recommend another platform?

The next release is scheduled for next week.

In the meantime, replace bp-core/bp-core-functions.php with the following:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/buddypress/BuddyPress/master/src/bp-core/bp-core-functions.php

Then, go to the admin dashboard and navigate to “Tools > BuddyPress” and check the “Reinstall emails” option and the activation email template should be installed.

I’m still testing if clicking on the activation url works.

Hello

In my case the activation email is sent with the link embedded in the email, a new user would click the link and then be diverted to a page asking for the activation code they never received. This is so frustrating.
