Activities not showing in Activity panel but does in widgets

New activity is showing properly in the Recent Activity and Recent Replies widgets but not in my user profile or the backend Activity panel.
I have done the following:
1) Deactivated all plugins except BuddyPress and bbPress
2) switched to standard theme 2010
3) Used Tools>BuddyPress to repair “last activity”
4) checked that Activity Streams is ticked in Settings>BuddyPress
5) run a check on my database
6) created a new topic in a forum
7) created a new reply to the topic
7) The new topic shows in the Recent Topics widget and the reply shows in the Recent Replies widget
8) Within my profile activity these actives DO NOT show
9) These activities DO NOT show in the backend Activity panelThe last activity in the Activity panel is for 26th June and nothing has been added since.
I am doing all this on the Admin account.WP: v4.2.2
BuddyPress v2.3.2.1
bbPress v 2.5.7Am I missing something? Surely the widgets display data from the activity stream? That the activity shows up there implies that the activity is being recorded. So why is it not showing in the Activity panel nor User Profile activity pane?
Possibly related post by magicbmxfreestyle BuddyPress Activity. I do not have Friend Connections enabled in Settings>BuddyPress.
Can someone enlighten me on this please?
