Activity Drop Down Menu – No search for posts option

Hello
On the drop down menu on bp activity stream there is no longer the option to search for posts on my live site whereas on my test site there is.
I tried reinstalling bp and using basic theme but with no luck.
Thanks for any help in advance

RESOLVED
As was a test site the reading settings were “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”
With this selected posts and comments disappear from drop down menu on activity stream
