Activity feed Error when clicking on "comment"

    Hi !
I am using Buddypress 2.1 and WP 4.0
I had a first issue with the activity feed, when I was clicking on the “Comment” button, the page was just reloading.

I fixed this issue with the following fix : https://buddypress.org/support/topic/jquery-bug-in-buddypress-2-1/

And now when I click the button, the text input appear(not before) but just 1 second after that, the page reload again so I am not able to use the comments…

The error is almost similar :
TypeError: jq.scrollTo is not a function

    Any idea ?

    Thanks,

    Mathias

which theme do you use ?
Make also a test with 2014 theme.

I use a home made theme. But yes I could try an other theme, but I don’t think its the cause.

It’s a javascript issue when using the older bp-default theme.

See the first point in this thread with a suggested fix:

    Thanks,
I tried this fix but it doesn’t work.

The reply work, but not the “comment” (first comment…)
It reload the page and I’ve this error : TypeError: jq.scrollTo is not a function

If you want to have a look, it’s just here : http://www.rodtrip.com/activity/

How are you adding BuddyPress support to your theme? Your theme doesn’t appear to be a bp-default theme.

Did you do what danbp suggested and tried switching to a WP default theme like Twenty Twelve to see if the same thing happens there?

I have the same issue and I am using themeforest’s Razor theme which does support BP.

I am using the plugin “BuddyPress Template Pack” to integrate Buddypress to my template.
The problem can probably come from there. I just saw that this pluging hasn’t been updated since 3 years.

Is there any other plugins to replace this one ? Or a manual way documentation ?

    Thanks,

    Mathias

    I just found this : https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/bp-17-upgrading-template-packed-themes/

But can I do this if I am already using Buddypress 2.2 ?

Yes you can do this. Make a backup of your theme and test on a dev environment before doing anything.

When you are converted over to theme compatibility, you might lose a few custom styles that you’ll have to rewrite the CSS for, but that should be it.
