Activity feed shows wrong user after moderation

Hi,
Members can add a business listing as a custom post type on my website. The listing must be moderated before it gets published. After publication of a listing, the avatar and link of the moderator is shown on the activity feed, not those of the author.
Is there any way to prevent this from happening? I would like to have the avatar and link of the member who submitted the listing shown on the activity feed, without having to manually update bp-activity.
