Activity ‘Load More’ strange behaviour

So ….. click ‘Load More’ and the whole Activity list that is currently showing is just repeated/added onto the bottom ….. EXCEPT that instead of starting at the top activity item, it starts with the second item down.

Repeat ‘Load more’ again and the third ‘more’ starts with the third item (of the original list) down.

I’ve done it with the Console open in Chrome and the error that appears possibly relevant is:

    jquery.min.js?ver=3.7.1:2

    POST https://barelyclubhouse.net/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php 404 (Not Found)
    send @ jquery.min.js?ver=3.7.1:2
    ajax @ jquery.min.js?ver=3.7.1:2
    (anonymous) @ jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=3.4.1:2
    e.<computed> @ jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=3.4.1:2
    _ajax @ wp-ulike.min.js?ver=4.6.9:1
    _updateLikers @ wp-ulike.min.js?ver=4.6.9:1
    i @ jquery.min.js?ver=3.7.1:2
    handle @ jquery.min.js?ver=3.7.1:2
    dispatch @ jquery.min.js?ver=3.7.1:2
    v.handle @ jquery.min.js?ver=3.7.1:2

Can anyone give me any clues where to go next? OR, is it possible to change Load More to simple pagination?

    Many thanks.

Try to deactivate wp-ulike plugin and test again

@vapvarun Many thanks for the suggestion …..but I tried it but it made no difference. Could this be another consequence arising from bp 12.1.1?

Hi @johnsimpson64, the latest version of BP (v12.2.0) was released yesterday. You can give it a try and test it again. At my end, I wasn’t able to replicate the issue you were facing with the “load more” feature – it seems to be working fine. However, I suggest that you try deactivating all custom codes related to BP and other BP plugins on your staging site, as they may contain outdated code that could be causing the issue.

@vapvarun Many thanks, if it’s not too stupid a question, at what point would I be able to remove BP Classic. I’m assuming the answer might be “when all the other plugin authors have updated their code”. But of course, that might be quite a while.

@vapvarun Ohhh, hey, I just realised who you are. A few days ago before I found out sbout BP Classic I was just about to give up on this build, download BuddyX and start over. I may still LOL. 🙂

🙂 Depending on your website’s plugins, theme, and any custom BuddyPress codes. BuddyX is ready for BPv12+ it does not need BP Classic. All our plugins are also ready for BPv12+.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news ….. I did as you suggested, deactivated every plugin associated with Buddypress then reactivated one by one, testing for issue each time. The culprit has turned out to be Wpcom Designs – Buddypress Activity Filter.
