Add a Messages tab in Group nav – similar to Member profile page

Hi,

Is there anyway to relatively easily plug a Messages tab on the group page, similar to the one available in the member page.

I’d like users to access this function from the group page itself. When user is on a group page and clicks on Messages – then he stays on the Group page but that opens the Messages template and functionality similar to what is done on the member page.

It tried to play with the group extensions, group screens functions and setup_nav, but couldn’t get it right….

Is that even doable ?

@jordanerollin There is a group e-mail plugin called “BuddyPress Group Email”. I have never used it therefore have no working knowledge of it.

I can see from the website there is a tab it says “Send Mail”, but you could possibly change that via a language file edit if you wanted it to say “Messages.”

From the quick read it says:

Allow group admins and moderators to send emails

BuddyPress Group Email

The plugin itself has been around for a good while. I found it in a post from 5 years ago, so maybe somebody with some knowledge of the plugin could better advise.
