Add Xprofile links/search to profile fields outside of profile

I need to replicate the functionality that exists on users profiles where their xprofile fields are links/clickable and search for that result amongst other members.
Basically I added all of the users xprofile meta to their standard page (e.g members/username). The meta data links properly on (members/username/profile) but not on their standard page.
How can I make those same xprofile fields linkable there?
