Hi all,

I’ve been running BuddyPress on http://indietravelpodcast.com/ for about a month, and started getting some people on board in the last week. I have a UI problem that I hope you can help with.

When new people come to an individual forum post, they don’t know what to do. I’ve had feedback like, “I have no idea what that page is about” and “I want to leave a message but don’t know how”. I’d like to add a message for people who aren’t signed in, directing them to register or sign in in order to post. Theoretically it would appear instead of the new post text box.

My problem:

1. I’m not sure where this should go. What’s the template file? It’s obviously not in /forum/index.php, which was my first thought.

Help would be great. I’d also like to do something similar for status updates/group updates.

2. Where would I find the file to add this to updates?

I sorted this. I added the following code to /forum/forums-loop.php and to /groups/single/forum/topic.php, just above the last line:
