Once upon a time @modemlooper had a plugin that would do this but he removed it from the repository. The only downside was it did not give any options to order the nav item. It just added a profile nav item at the end of the other nav items. I have no clue if he has this available anywhere on the net. Sorry!

Just for your info in the plugin I mentioned above you can drag that menu item to whatever position you want it to be in, in your navigation so this is very cool!

please can you help me with the next step.
Now I have the profile menu on the main menu, I need to remove the top level menu from the profile header, BUT keep the second level menu’s for each option.
eg:
Activity is now on the main menu, I’d like it removed (along with all the other options) from the user profile screen,
BUT…
when I choose Activity from the main menu, I’d like on the profile, the options for “Personal
Mentions , Favorites , Friends , Teams
can you help ?
Go to Appearance>menu. Scroll down and un-check the box beside top menu.
