Adding to existing tables in buddypress

    Hi,

    I need to add custom fields to group creation in buddypress. I can find tutorials for adding new tables for plugins, but I can’t find anything for adding columns to existing tables. In this case, I want to add columns to wp_bp_group so that it includes fields for a number of extra options. What is the best approach to do this without editing the database directly?

    The best approach is not to do it.
    Store your extra options in the group meta table; that’s what it is for.
