All users posting on the same blog. Is it possible?

  • Hello,

We would like to use BuddyPress for its excellent social features, but we have a problem. We would like to have a “Blog” page on our site, where all registered users could post articles. So there would be only one blog(group blog) for the entire site, where all the users would post. Users shouldn’t be able to edit others’ articles. It should behave just like regular WP, with multiple authors.

Do you have any suggestions on how we could achieve this functionality?

    Thank you!

You don’t have to do anything.. Just install BuddyPress on a single WordPress install and all your users are contributors by default.. This means they can submit posts easily. You can make the process much easier by using a plugin like TD Midi Forms which allows your users to submit posts from the front end and even allow them to edit their own posts. A good tutorial:

    Good luck :)

Better still, purchase the Gravity Forms plugin. It makes posting from the front end an absolute breeze. Brilliant.

there is also a “Group-Blog-Plugin” which allows users to write on the same Group-Blog.

I guess this is working only with WPMU ?

“It should behave just like regular WP, with multiple authors.”

Then as stated above, just use regualr WP. The latest rd of BP works on single WP. The template will (or can) handle the “blog” tab part.
