Allow Only Public Groups

hello – i’d like to create the option where any group that registers can only be an open group (rather than private or invite-only). Any suggestions on this?

try https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-restrict-group-creation/ set “Create group capability” to “subscriber” and all other settings to something above

thanks much rich. I’m looking for the “Create group capability” area though. Is this is the WP admin screen or in a PHP file somewhere?

gotcha – didn’t see that before. in the field next to Create Group Capability it appears I can only leave the text “upload_files” in there (it doesn’t take “subscriber”). I deleted the text for Create private group capability and Create hidden group capability but those options still appear when I go to create a new group. I’m clearly doing something wrong….
