Allow users to change Theme

Hi, I am reskinning a buddypress site for a client but they want to give users the choice between viewing the old site and the new site so they can see which people prefer.
To do this I would like to build the new site as a fresh install (the original version is now a mess!) and create a second theme that looks like the old site. So I have two main questions
1 – Can I put a button on the front end of the site to allow the users to toggle between the two themes? or even just an option in their dashboard would do.
2 – on the ‘old site theme’ is it possible for me to just hardcode into the theme the widgets/profile pages etc they would see so they wouldn’t get any of the new site functionality
Or if anyone has any better ways I can allow people to swap between the two versions all suggestions are welcome. I blame facebook and twitter for putting the idea in the clients head

Thanks, not sure what I was googleing for before but i have now found a buddypress theme switcher plugin

however i can’t get it to work and their forums are only for paying members
Still i’m a bit closer then I was before!
