Why re invent the wheel! It has been suggested that I should look at buddypress for a upcoming project. Create a twitter look alike site to service a city community.
Suggestions of a suitable theme and if any extra plugins are required to replicate twitter functions , hashtag, retweet etc Thanks for your help Will be self hosted
