Any way to shorten the "freshness" elapsed time in activity & forum posts?

    Hi,

    Sorry to be a nit-picker but is there a simple way to show less freshness info in activity, forum posts, etc.?

    IMO, “22 hours, 39 minutes ago” in main & group activity and in forum posts freshness and “active 23 hours, 8 minutes ago” in groups index, etc. is overkill.

    I like the way “freshness” is displayed on this forum (number of minutes (if less than an hour), no. of hours, days, weeks. months or years).

    Cheers,

    Gene

    I’d be interested in learning how to do alternate date/time formats for these as well.

    i don’t believe there is a way to override the “since” part

    have a look in bp-core.php at function bp_core_time_since( $older_date, $newer_date = false ) {

    @etiviti Thanks, I had a glimpse at the code and it’s quite complex, I’ll leave things as they are.

    Cheers,

    you can always go in and do a translation to shorten things (eg minutes == min) etc
