Assign multiple member types to a member

I am using a BuddyPress based site, for some need I wanted to assign multiple member types to a single member. Is this possible to assign multiple member types using BuddyPress functions?

Please help me out I would highly appreciate any help.

I believe you can. the function bp_set_member_type has an append option, meaning you can have more than one type assigned to each member.
