"Author" role and "My Blogs"

Question for the BP devs… if you get designated the role of “author” on another member’s blog, shouldn’t that blog be listed in “Blogs > My Blogs” in BuddyPress?

Right now, this isn’t the case.

I’d suggest that merely having author role on a member’s blog doesn’t make that blog “yours” so it wouldn’t appear under the “My blogs” section. I agree the way you are proposing would make more sense, with “My Blogs” perhaps renamed.

I’m at work and don’t have time to look through the code but this may need to go on trac as an enhancement suggestion.

    Hi!

It would be fantastic to have the ability to use the My blogs this way. With the upcoming BP feature (as per the roadmap):

    Blogs:

    * A quick post form via the theme

.. this would be a welcome addition! I’ll only be using one blog for all the users so this would be fantastic!

Sidenote: The whole WPMU process of adding an existing user to an existing blog is painful. You need to know the username and the email address of the user you want to add! I guess this is done for security reasons… but if you’re a site-admin, knowing the username should be enough (I guess you could use the “Site Admin > Blogs” option as well, but anyway…).

I’m going to test out Burt’s BP Community Blogs plugin to see if it makes things easier.
