Auto Assign Groups Based on Profile Field

Hey Everyone. There aren’t any good plugins that I could find to do this.

I want to create a drop-down list (profile field) for a particular classification. When the users register and select their classification I want to automatically assign them to a group of the same name so they can be sent emails/documents pertaining to that group.

Any idea on where to start to accomplish this?

Hi @cmunns! Did you ever come up with a solution? I have the same requirement (to automatically assign a drop based on a profile field).

hi all.i want the profile page of user to be served as main page of my buddypress ..i have used static page option..as by default ..buddyrpess create three pages..activity.groups etc.
so i can make them as main static page..my requironments is..i want the user profile page to be serve as main page..thanks for ur reply in advance
