Avatars without Extended Profiles

    I am using a special theme, which relies on and extended wordpress profile, and i dont know of a way to sync that up with the buddypress profile. However, i really want to be able to use avatars. Is there a way of disabling extended profiles, but keeping the ability to add avatars? thanks.

    No, sorry; the avatars live inside the extended profile component.

    You could do a stripped down profile page with just username and avatar. If you want the de-emphasize profiles.
