So it’s 1.11.11 and I’ve just re-launched my pet site (literally) at http://avenuek9.com, after one too many days of sleepless nights. I think this fares well with what’s possible through some CSS and child theming. It really doesn’t use a “boatload” of plugins anymore… mainly just the ones to speed up the site. Anywho, if you own a dog or are a pet lover, go ahead and peruse through the site. Log in through FB and friend around

I like the menu drop down and the way it’s reflected in the customised labelled BuddyPress buttons. I’m a sucker for little touches like that. Really nice clean layout too which wins me over from the start. Less plugins more focus on the ones you need is always good I reckon.

Thanks you two! I vote we build in some sort of notification system to this forum, because I had no idea someone responded to this post just till today! Anywho, I also beefed up the BP signup page… http://avenuek9.com/signup/ … might tweak it some more but I’m fighting all urges not to introduce any more clutter. AND ***AAAANNNNNDDDD*** I WILL incorporate @DJPaul ‘s Achievements plugin once I’ve completed a lot of other initiatives for this site! I swear, once you run a BP site, the tweaking never stops, lol.

Very nice work. I sympathize with the temptation to add more clutter and gewgaws. Gets me every time.
