bbpress deep integration instructions

Are the old instructions for deep integration still relevant or are there new instructions? For example, do you still need the old bbpress plugin if you go this route? My install currently is wpmu 2.9.1/bp 1.1.3.

For instance, if I’m setting up bbpress, do I need to go through the whole install and set up the cookies, keys, and salts and THEN integrate with bp or will bp handle that portion by itself?

I really like the group forum setup but i also want to have some forums that are for general or misc categories that I can’t see a reason to create a group for. I’ve seen some people asking and I know that the ones I’ve seen have said that if you want ANY forums that won’t belong to a group, you have to go deep integration route but has anyone thought of any workarounds?

Also, any suggestions on an easy way to integrate it with my current theme, cosmic buddy? I know and will ask Brajesh, but wondered if any of the many people in here that went for deep integration found any easier ways to display their forums, such as using a page template or something similar.

    Thanks guys.

install bbpress with cookie integration (use the same key in bb and wp config), add the deep integration code at the top in bb-config require_once(‘/full/path/to/wp-load.php’); and then you’re ok.

if you want in the activity the bbpress post atm is not possible, this require a plugin or other stuff.
