bbpress on windows – no topics

I installed a clean Buddypress on a clean Worpress on a Windows server. After following a few suggestions here, I was able to get the primary functionality working. Now I would like to add bbpress as an internal install. All looks good until I want to add at topic. Submitting a new topic goes nowhere.
Has anyone successfully installed on Windows?
