bbPress plugin – Groups?

  • @brutalregime

I’ve installed BuddyPress and the bbPress plugins. It appears as if the forums are group-specific. Is that true? I want just one forum for everyone, with categories and sub-categories that I configure. Am I missing something, or is it not possible to do things this way? I’m hoping to replace phpBB (which I really like), as I need to spend time on content, not messing with integration.

    Thanks,

BuddyPress’ forums are group-specific like the forums on Facebook’s group pages.

If you’re looking for a traditional forum, then stick with phpBB.

Also, stay tuned to the new bbPress WordPress plugin:

There will probably be an alpha release for that in the next month or so.

Will the new plugin remove the groups restriction?

The new bbpress plugin being created for wordpress right now can be used like any other forum.

The forum option within buddypress can be disabled (the group-specific one).

Thank you, Xevo. I will check that one out.

    Oh, it’s not ready yet.

Guess I’ve got to just sit and wait and see how it works out. Version 1.0 for WP-United might be out by then, too.

    Thanks, all.
