Best practice for stop spam registrations

I am in a process of building a buddypress site.
And I get hundreds of spam registration each day.
I tried few plugins but they continue to register.
Believe most of you have same problem.
Whats the best solution you found to stop them?
Any suggestion for a good plugin and other recommended steps that can help stop or reduce spam registration?
