Blank page after registration

I can’t see what wordpress version I am but there is a notification to upgrade to 3.8 so I’m whatever was before that. Salutation is a premium WordPress theme built with web standards such as HTML5, CSS3. The theme is BuddyPress ready for your organization to create its own social network or community .

I have just finalised my website, people have registered but after inputting their details, it hangs in a blank page.
I can see their details in the back end, but they get no notification email and therefore they are not able to login into the site and see all the different protected pages.
Can anyone help me? My web developer is overseas and I really want to launch !
    Thank you so much,
    Lisa

you can find your version by click the little wordpress logo in leftmost position of the top admin bar. your question lacks the necessary details to give much specific help but it sounds like there maybe be an issue with your theme or a plugin interfering with the normal registration process. those are probably somewhat dangerous to be messing with if you don’t know what you’re doing but you can try deactivating your plugins one at a time or switching to the default wp theme to see if you can isolate the issue. Some themes will lose certain settings when you switch but most good themes should not.

Try ensure your wordpress, theme and plugins are up to date.

OK that’s great, yes I think this is what the problem is but you’re right, I probably shouldn’t do this and wait for my web lady. Thank you !
