buddypress theme as the main theme from buddydress (shout) but still I canot get the directory blogs to show the list when I click on the blogs
Does it work when using the default member theme, bpmember?

I tried putting bpmember but it would not load so I have deleted buddypress and will try again and use bpmember before using any other theme to see if this will work!

You’re missing the functions.php file from the home theme that came included inside bphome. There are functions included in that file that will assist your custom theme in routing to the necessary member/directory pages.

I already scraped it and started from scratch!
I put in a new installation of mu and buddypress
I put the bp-themes into wp-content and used the the bhome to wp-content/themes folder
now I get this!

You currently have the bpskeletontheme member theme enabled and active in your wp-content/themes directory.
Update: I just refreshed it now and it looks like you’re figuring it out slowly but surely. Let us know if you have more questions.

I did it again step by step and now I have it working! but would like to change the theme to the shout theme from buddydress.
So I will let you know how I get on!!

I noticed some warnings under the footer on each page!

Anyone know why these have appeared.
I will leave trying to upload new theme untill I get this fixed!

The warnings have gone!
I just opened up the site and they have gone very strange!
Anyway lets see how I get on with the custom theme and I will add the functions file and see if it works.

OK I installed the shouty theme from buddydress and uploaded the functions.php from bphome.
Now I see the shouty theme for the home page and the blog page but see the bphome theme for the groups members and blog pages!
Is there any other files I need to upload

In the buddy press settings I chose the shouty member theme for generatied pages and it worked!

Glad you got it all working!
As you discovered, in WPMU’s backend under the BuddyPress menu group, there is a place to pick which member theme you want to use.
