blogs plugin killed my site is it me or the the subdirectory functions.

just simple couple of questionsâ€¦ i have a shared host really cheap one with lunar pagesâ€¦

I installed wpmu and realised that the subdomain function would work as i didnâ€™t have access the Apache server and this means i cant ad the wildcard dns thingy.. so subdomains we outâ€¦

so i reinstaled using the sub directoryâ€¦ this worked fine..

i then tried to instal budypress with teh zip files.. as said in the readmeâ€¦

with the blogs one it just gave a a parse syntax php ( or one of those php eror lines on a white page just saying something was wring on a line around 300 i forget exactely..) error that would not let me do

anythingâ€¦ so i deleted the blogs one and then it worked and i could ad a profile on the admin contol pannel but not on the splash page from register.. it first asked to creat a new blog then the profile so that didnt seem right..

questions.. does budy press work on sub directories and why was the blogs plugin not working..

i am trying to create a social site for spots or locations in kenyaâ€¦

i just tried again with a perfectly new instalation at bp.spotskenya.com

i get this error. in my browser window

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘=’, expecting ‘)’ in /home/rfmaf0/public_html/bp/wp-content/mu-plugins/bp-blogs/bp-blogs-templatetags.php on line 344

when i delete the blogs plugin it fixex this..

what am i doing wrong??

ihave got it working so far but the strange thing is that it creates a blog instead of a profile and when i click on create a home base it just says…

You’re logged in already. No need to register again!

so basically when you register at bp.spotskenya.com/ you go through the sign up well and uit does it nicely but its creating a blog not a user… i am guessing this is due to the fact that i am useing sub directories no subdomains as my server doesnt alow me acces to wildcards.

plase can som one help its for a major uni project..

At the bottom of that page is a link to download all the files in .zip format. Give that a try on your site and you should have better luck with getting it to work.
