Cannot duplicate this issue.
With the same setup, the activity stream shows new topics and answers from both group and global forums.

In my case the problem occurred after updating WordPress to the 4.0.1. Everything was ok before that.
I didn’t change anything (e.g. plugins).
Any advice about what I could check?

I just found the problem and wasn’t the 4.0.1 version of WordPress.

If you select “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” in WP – Settings – Readings then bbpress new topics and replies won’t be shown in Buddypress Activity.
just fyi – if selected, it will also prevent blog comments from showing up in the activity stream.

Hopefully there will be a solution in a future update.
BP and bbPress are meant to act that way. So it’s considered a ‘feature’, not a bug.
Sorry, I couldn’t think this way.
I had in my mind that maybe a company would like to create a private community, so it would make sense to select “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” but without losing the feature of updating the activity stream…
Well, still doesn’t make sense to me to consider it a feature but that’s just me 🙂
