BP Activity Uses Post Publisher Link, Not Assigned Author

When generating the activity feed BuddyPress says whoever publishes a post “wrote” the post rather than using the assigned author and the assigned author is not credited with the post. This is an issue when one user, say admin, publishes a post written/assigned to User 2. The activity feed then says admin wrote the post when it should say “User 2” wrote the post.

The author name is showing correctly but the link is taken to the admin and also the post is not credited to the assigned author. There is no activity by the other users

Whoever initially published the blog post will have their name on the automatically generated activity which links to said blog post.

If you initially published the blog post as the admin – and then changed the post to user 2 – it won’t change the automatically generated activity post.

User 2 needs to be an author and be assigned to any new blog post you make.

You can change your existing automatically generated activity posts by reverting the blog posts you need to change to drafts – switching the post author – followed by publishing it once again.

Hi, Thank you for your reply.

So Mine is a custom post type and it is user-generated and we review and make it live on the website. The problem is the name is correct that is to the assigned author but when you click on the link it takes to admin. Also in the post count and activity of friends I cant see posts of the assigned author as it is assigned reviewed by admin.

Can you help me on that part
