Ok, I have had a lot of issues setting up my sub sites on my site, but after a lot of discussion over on the wordpress forums and through my hostgator account, I have come to realize, BP Forums is where I now need to be

What has happened is, after setting up my multi site theme w/ the help of host gator – the buddypress avatars are not showing up on these sub themes. Host gator informed me to modify my htacess file:

‘#RewriteRule ^files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$1 [L] <-Old
RewriteRule ^files/(.+) wp-content/uploads/$1 [L] <-New'

When I did this, the avatars began to work, but then the rest of the site wasn’t acting properly. So I have changed it back to:

‘RewriteRule ^files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$1 [L] ‘
