BP doesn't work with my GoDaddy hosting

I installed BuddyPress on GoDaddy?’s server; I’m currently using WP (not WP MU). The install seemed painless, but now none of the My Account or Notification links work. When they are selected the url changes, and then reverts back to the blog’s home page.

– All the requirements have been checked.

– I performed a plugin install of BuddyPress after installing WP via GoDaddy

– I activated the theme that was packaged with the BuddyPress Plug-in.

Any recommendations to get this working?

Have you enabled permalinks in your WP settings?

Yes, they are enabled as “custom structure” : /%category%/%postname%/ and still no good. Do they need to be enabled as something else?

Make sure your .htaccess is updated upon permalink structure setup.

I’m on GoDaddy, using WordPress MU and BuddyPress, it’s working fine for me. I do have a dedicated IP with my Deluxe hosting account, have you look into the possibility that you may need a dedicated IP or to upgrade your regular hosting account? Check out my installation at LwEEs.com.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction guys,

I solved the problem by allowing WordPress to automatically update the .htaccess file as per these instructions:

Oops! Spoke too soon! Still not working, despite all permissions have been re-set. I’m suspecting I might need to upgrade to a deluxe account… I think I need to have a chat with GoDaddy’s support.
