BuddyPress.org

Hi, I’ve been asked to create sort of a tripadvisor website where various artists (members) can be evaluated by subscribers. Each artist, listed by category, will have his/her own page where logged in users will post their comments and ratings. All I would like to know is if BuddyPress, eventually with extra plugins like User Pro, can be a good choice and if so…if there’s already any tutorial on how to set it up for a similar project.
