Brand new install of 1.2 with wpmu 2.9.1

I previously had 1.13 running on this hosted server without a problem, wiped the db and the files and installed WPMU 2.9.1 and then buddypress 1.2. after doing that I get 404 errors on all pages other than the home page and the admin. Sorry I know this is a common question, but I checked all solutions (.htaccess, server config etc.) with no luck. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    David

So I just deleted everything again and then reinstalled WPMU and then 1.2RC2. Same thing, strange thing. I can get to the home page and it loads fine, but then no other pages run they all are 404 errors. I am on surpass hosting. Can someone help me?

    Thanks,

    David

you didn’t move the theme files did you? Also make sure the permalinks is set to anything but default and save

when you click about it goes to this url http://sharepointindex.com/index.php/about so something is funky with your permalink structure

    Did you patch vars.php?

That’s the solution for your problem. :)

I’m having the exact same problem with the latest versions of both scripts. I’ve tried every suggestion I can find, including the ones contained in this thread, but I’m still showing the dreaded 404 error on every BP page. :-(

angeljs – make sure mod_rewrite is working on your server and is reading the pretty permalinks in your install.
