Broadcast Message Unresponsive

So I have sent a message to all my users, but now they cannot close the message popup. I tried de-activating buddypress, disable and enable the messages but still the pop up is still appearing in user accounts profile etc.
The same broadcast message is not appearing on the list of admin sent emails. Please assist
