Buddy Press content filtering?
-
I’m running a site for a graduate class in “social media in education”
Word Press 4.0 on a bluehost server, one button install. Just upgraded everything.
Active plugins:
bbPress 2.5.4
BuddyPress 2.1.1
BuddyPress Activity Plus 1.6
BuddyPress Members only 1.0.5
GD bbPress Attachments 2.1
New User Approve 1.7.1
Restrict Widgets 1.2.4Since the upgrade students have not been able to post material such as:
“The Naked Scientist Podcasts, University of Cambridge, https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/naked-scientists-podcast-stripping/id74171648?mt=2 or http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/
“strips down” science topics so that they are easy to understand. I chose this podcast subscription because as a science teacher and science teacher supervisor, I would like to keep up-to-date with trending topics in science. I listened to “How to Nurture a Child’s Brain”. This podcast reported research on physiological differences found in brains of children who experienced emotional maltreatment”Text with specific words such as above just does not post. period. I verified this behavior with a test account, same privileges as the students (participants) . If I try to post simply the word “naked”, it will not take. However, text without words like “naked” can be posted by those students having trouble as well as my test account. As an administrator I can post the text above.
Is there some content filtering going on? I cannot find anything in the dashboard and all spam filtering is turned off — we are a closed community.
If I can’t get this fixed I’m going to have to resort to going back to the university run blackboard — a horrible message about social media! Any help possible? I’ve searched everything.
