[Resolved] BuddyPress 1.7 Theming

Hello, I’m a total newbie to BuddyPress theme development.

Instead of beginning with BP 1.6, I decided to jump start with BP 1.7.
I installed BP 1.7 in my theme and it works smoothly.

Now I’d like to change the templates for, say, the registration page. So I copied the template from the bp-default theme to my theme root folder, but it doesn’t work. Nor does it if I try to mimick the folder structure in a /buddypress/ dedicated folder.

So how can I override the default templates? I searched for this info, but I can’t seem to find an answer. I’m pleading for your help.

    Thanks.

Found it in BP documentation for 1.7. I’ll answer my own question, just in case someone else has the same problem.

The solution is to copy the folder /buddypress/ in the BP plugin templates (complete path: /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/) into the root folder of the theme. I copied the entire folder for convenience, but one could just copy the file he needs to edit, as long as he replicates the file structure.

Hope this is useful for someone.
