BuddyPress 2.1 activity pagination

In the latest BuddyPress versions, it seems that the activity pagination has been disabled.
( https://buddypress.org/support/topic/pagination-count-and-links-dont-work/ ) the alternate suggested solution does not seem to work (http://bpdevel.wordpress.com/2014/06/09/changes-to-bp_has_activities-queries-in-bp-2-1/). Is there any other alternate solution for the activity pagination ?
