Buddypress Dropdown Menu from Avatar

Hello,
When I am logged into my site as admin I can see a drop down menu beneath my name and avatar with links to the buddypress Profile, Messages etc. but when I log in as non-admin I can only see the option to logout.
Can anyone help me understand why this is?
And also how to edit this menu
