BuddyPress emails not sending

Running this on an otherwise vanilla Ubuntu 18.04 using LAMP. WP Version 4.9.8
None of the BuddyPress emails are getting sent.
I am using WP Email SMTP. 100% of the WP Mail SMTP emails are delivered.
If I turn off BuddyPress 100% of my WP emails get delivered, but 0% of any emails that are BuddyPress get delivered.
New user creation and password reset emails users that I create on the dashboard are all sent.
Anybody have any input?
