Buddypress + Gravity Forms + user registration = an issue

I was wondering is anyone else is having a problem with the default visibility set in Profile Settings not being recognized when using user registration/gravity forms to populate the information.

When a new user fills out the user registration form, it populates a number of profile fields. Varying degrees of visibility have been set – using all of them “only me, all members and everyone”. The issue is that once they fill it out ALL of their information is visible to anyone logged in or not. It is not adhering to the default visibility “rules”.

The weird part comes when a user goes into their profile to edit something or even if they only hit the “save changes” button – only then will the visibility settings be recognized. But there are 5 groups of information: Contact, Education & Word, Social sharing, etc. A user needs to go “save changes” in each group for that particular section to then recognize the visibility settings.

The issue has happened across three different browsers as well as a local server. This is baffling and really above my head. I’ve searched and can’t seem to find an answer. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Kendall
