BuddyPress login widget error

    Hi,

I have a new and up-to-date installation of WP and BP at thegoodflirt.com.

I put the Buddypress login widget in the sidebar. I am able to register a new user and activate from within the admin; however, users cannot log in via the widget. I get areturn page saying: “Error 406 – Not Acceptable. Generally a 406 error is caused because a request has been blocked by Mod Security.”

Users can log in through the regular WordPress login page.

I’ve browsed around support and the web and have not seen a solution other than possibly to disable mod_security.

Can anyone advise? I am on inmotionhosting.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Which theme and plugins do yo use ?

have you enabled debug true in wp-config ? Maybe you will get some warnings or notices which can help to find a culprit.

See here for help and how to disable mod_security.

So far, I only have Jetpack, Akismet and Wangguard running. I tried disabling them and still got the 406.

I saw the inmotionhosting post, thanks; and I have a support request in.

Have not tried debug true yet …

Disabling mod_sec actually did not solve the problem. :-/

    Update:

I removed the widget and then put it back … and it started working. I have no real explanation.

Thanks. Please close the ticket …
