BuddyPress Menu Not Showing for Old Members

I recently added buddypress to my wordpress site, and it’s fantastic!

However, members that were previously registered to the site do not have links in the menu such as
    “Profile, Forums, Friends, Groups, Settings”

Only newly registered users have those links.

I should also note that the /members/ page doesn’t have the users, so I assume that their bp profile hasn’t been activated yet? How can I automatically activate all previous user accounts other than sending them an email (if that is what the problem is).

Please let me know. Thank you.

I figured out the cause for this issue. When going to the user profile for each member, the check box “Show Toolbar when viewing site” is unchecked for all members. If there were only a few registered members I would just go back to each one and change them, however there are hundreds and would take quite a long time.

Is there a function I can put in functions.php to override it and enable toolbar for everyone?

It would be most helpful. Thank you.

“Show Toolbar when viewing site” is a WP setting.
Somebody probably has such a function.
But you should ask a larger audience – try wordpress.org/support/
