I’ve seen some good articles and how-tos on migrating a site, but so far I have tried and failed twice to move my site so I’m trying to figure out which piece of the puzzle I’m missing.

I have a test site set up in a subdirectory on my server. I want to move it to the root.

Do I need to back up and move the database? Or can I simply use one of the online tools to update it after the move since it’s on the same server?

Any other rookie mistakes that I might be missing?
