Hello —

I’ve been following the various threads about creating separate BuddyPress networks, but I haven’t quite managed to divine the current state of things:

There’s this patch, here (http://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2561), that seems quite promising.

I gather that it didn’t make it into trunk — but man! It sure would be useful. At any rate, it seemed like some work was being done here on the matter: http://buddypress.org/community/groups/miscellaneous/forum/topic/wpmuguru-working-with-bp-mu-ticket/

That fizzled out.

It appears that the issue is still being brought up( http://bpdevel.wordpress.com/ ), where it’s said that it won’t make it into 1.3. I don’t know if that means the ticket above — which really just opens the door to a plug-in — or something else.

At present, I have really jammed up my client’s system, in claiming that BP could be installed on MU — only to be shocked to find all users activity broadcast on every installation! That, of course, is how it’s supposed to work, but I’m trying to see how to salvage things.

At any rate, I was just hoping to get a read from some knowledgeable folks about the current state of the development for separate BP sandboxes, and what, if anything, can be done to hasten it on its way.
