Hi,

I’d like some advice about the feasibility of the following:

I’d like to use WordPress multisite and a suitable BuddyPress multisite plugin to create a network of social media sites, where a user becomes a member of the parent site upon sign-up and also a member of the child site based on the location they choose at sign-up.

So, if a user chooses London from the sign-up form they would become a member of mysite.com AND london.mysite.com, and I would serve content relevant to London.

However I would also like to retain the ability to have friendship connections between the sub-sites.

Essentially I’d like some content to be site specific but other content to be shared between sites – but also allow the members to switch to another location (sub-site) and view the content there – similar to how Craigslist works.
